Dengue!!! Even the name scares every bit of us, and why not? The symptoms of the diseases are harmful in their way, which can also be severe & life-threatening in some cases if left unaddressed. Dengue is a viral infection caused due to the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito. The symptoms of the disease can range from mild to severe and even be worse if left unattended at the right moment. Hence, early detection with Dengue Test is essential to catch the problem early before things turn severe. The presence of NS1 antigen in the blood is the very first indicator of dengue virus and is detected through Dengue Test. The Dengue NS1 Antigen Elisa Test is a blood test that looks for antigens in the blood of individuals suspected to be infected with the dengue virus. Being a rapid, reliable, and reasonable test, Dengue Test, in conjunction with other tests, captures the dengue virus early and helps doctors initiate the treatment to prevent the progression of the disease to a severe and complicated stage.

Positive IgM and IgG tests for dengue antibodies detected in an initial blood sample mean that it is likely that the person became infected with dengue virus within recent weeks.
Dengue IgG Test or Immunoglobulin G test is used for the detection of Dengue virus IgG antibodies. This test is usually used as a screening test and provides a preliminary test result to diagnose any previous or present infection with dengue viruses. Secondary dengue infections are characterised by high counts of IgG dengue virus antibodies. The levels rise around 7 days with a peak during the 2nd week. It remains in the blood for 90 days. But in some people, it may remain for the rest of their life. If IgG is positive and IgM is negative, this means that the person was infected with dengue in the past.
