People suffering from CAH have a gene defect which results in lack of enzymes required to make these hormones. CAH can be Classic that affects newborns & is a severe condition or it can be Non-classic that affects childhood or early adulthood & is milder and more common. This test helps to differentiate Non-classic CAH from Polycystic ovaries in women.
